To be honest, I won't be sad to see him go. He's clearly something about him if he's so highly rated, but he hasn't shown it so far.

I have to agree he hasnt shown a lot so far, but I think its a bit harsh to say he's that bad. He's a striker, not a winger, which is Wilson has been playing him, and the one chance he has had, he's tucked away. Scrappy or not (and I agree it was) he still put it in.

I think if he was played as a centre forward and saw more of the ball in the area we may see a different player to the one we have so far. But given the system we are currently employing I dont think its going to happen.

What about hitting the post at Wolves? And what about all the times he could have created an opening for others but got greedy and wasted the chance? There's more to being a striker than putting it away every now and then

I think at the moment he isn't much good, but is actually very close to being very good.  Once he sorts out the final delivery, he's shown enough to suggest he will be very good.  I thought, bar the finall delivery, against Wolves he was excellent.  Unfortunately the final deilvery is always crucial...bit of a crap thing not to have...but if he gets it...he'll be very good.

Hold on, he's a kid of what, 18 - 19? Playing league football for the first-time, of course he's going to be greedy! All goalscorers are greedy!!! He's desperate to impress, but from the word go people (muppets) got on his back when he made a mistake. Same as they do with Macklin. That will do wonders for his confidence! (And just in case you cant tell, I'm being sarcastic there!(
Getting on a players back has never, ever worked. But showing them encouragement and appluading them when they do something well has helped more than one young professional.
He scores a goal last weekend and all we can do is moan about it being scrappy! Lets not forget that it was the goal that got us the 3 points, so scrappy or not, we should be praising him for that.

Gary Lineker and Clive Allen would have disagreed.
