He would be good for them, get his mate Stavo in as assistant and he will get them playing.

I guess its a knee-jerk reaction to their heavy defeat on Tuesday up at Uddersfield.

Wise is a footnote on our history... It could have been great, it wasn't to be.

Brighton chopping and changing their managers won't do them any good.

Southampton should be the ones on the south coast looking for a new manager, not Brighton!

Tactically Wilson beat Pardew into a pulp on tuesday.

Slade pulled off a remarkable escape for Brighton last season.

Dennis Wise was a young Southampton reject, I'm sure he'd love to run them Smiley

The Wiseman could be hovering.

Brighton 2 Stockport 4

Rob Dawson

August 22, 2009

A CARL BAKER hat-trick helped Stockport County on their way to victory over nine-man Brighton and Hove Albion at the Withdean Stadium.

It was Brighton who opened the scoring when Nicky Forster stooped to head past Owain Fon Williams after 28 minutes.

County responded almost immediately when Baker popped up at the back post to score after a Peter Thompson’s flick-on.

Brighton then had the chance to retake the lead but Williams brilliantly denied Forster from the penalty spot – tipping the ball onto the post low to his right.

Baker got his second after 54 minutes, drifting across the 18-yard box before looking up to see Graeme Smith off his line and deftly chipping the Brighton keeper.

But Brighton were level five minutes later, when former County favourite Liam Dickinson smashed home Forster’s lay-off from the edge of the box.

The Seagulls were down to 10 men when Tommy Elphick was shown a second yellow card, and three minutes later they were reduced to nine men after Colin Hawkins – who had only been on the field a matter of minutes – was shown a straight red card for pulling back Thompson inside the area.

Baker slotted home the penalty to complete his hat-trick.

County then had debutant Liam Bridcutt sent off for a second bookable offence before substitute Oli Johnson completed the scoring a minute from time to give Gary Ablett his first win as County boss.
