Peter Noble was one of my heroes when I first started supporting the Town. Me too. He was one of the main reasons I began supporting Town all those years ago

Definitely join in the birthday greetings. What a header of the ball! I reckon STFC missed him almost more than Don Rogers when he left.

I'm a bit too young (something I never thought Id type on this forum) to remember Noble as a Swindon player. However, I do remember him playing forBurnley.

I love watching Cholmondly-Warner style football footage. That third goal was brilliant.

Remember him for two things :
1) The third goal against Burnley in extra time in the League Cup Semi Final replay at The Hawthorns - we all knew that when that went in we were off to Wembley . He just stood there and grinned !
2) Used to go and sit in the old North Stand and watch the players train during school holidays when I was a kid - he would always be sat in the dugout at the end of training signing autographs and chatting to the kids watching, always had time for us.
A top player for the Town and a top bloke
Happy Birthday Peter
