Perfection is not attainable

Isnt that for DW to judge...me being a lorry driver i havnt seen him in training...havnt talked to him,i for one hope we get him...i can understand your views but you can say that about most players...most in Yorkshire thaught that Douglas was washed up and no good...he looks far from that.

As you rightly say every player when he signs is a gamble and yes it is for DW to say if hes worth it or not, if he WANTS to sign for us and WANTS to play for us and not just collect his wage week in week out as a few of our current players seem to be then great bring him in by all means.

I am not actually anti Trundle at all but I do think that there may have been better targets out there for us but that has become pretty evident that there actually arent many good/cheap/available strikers out there.

Like him or not Trundle is a proven goal scorer at this level and if there is one thing we need right now it's someone who can score - unless we like 0-0 draws with shite teams

I know some people mentioned that Trundle was in the directors' seats, was that wind-up or was he really there?  Fuck me that might mean we are going to sign him, no thanks!
I've warmed to Trundle now and tbh I hope we get him. At the moment we are so devoid of any creativity that we are crying out for a player like him and he should certainly create and score a few. Also with him playing he will probably take the direct free kicks which means Timlin won't be whacking it into the wall anymore which can only be good.

To be fair i think Fitton and co took a big gamble with Cox.....i just feel with his past record and his style of play(lazy to some) if it payed of he would be good for us...not banging on about this but most Swansea fans would welome him back...they are certain hes going back there, lets hope its resolved sooner rather than later jjedmunds.

Sadly I came away yesterday..longing for a player who might be able to do something creative...I've always liked that sort of player even though they can be frustrating. I had hopes of McManatee last year, but he's now a shadow of the player he promised to be.

Christian Roberts was that type...and as someone else commented Macklin is a bit like him.  I don't think it any coincidence that we just fell away after he went off yesterday.

I think we're now reaching panic stations, so if it has to be Trundle...

Trundle was a great prospect three/four years ago, but he started to believe he was a superstar and got too big for his own boots, he has not shown his potential for a quite a while and I believe he never will again. He is not the option we are looking for especially when you take into the account the wages he would want to come to us.

Have to agree.

Id love to have a player where all the opposition fans are on his back from KO.

He's a cheeky chappy, loves a bit of banter with the crowd.

As has been said before, Paynter is a fellow scouse? They could hit it off.  Love

Trundle won't score if we try and lump the ball up to him.

Exactly. Even Cox would struggle this season with this tactic. We need to start playing through midfield, again Douglas and Timlin were largely abscent but to be honest they didnt see any of the ball so....

The one thing we did at MK was play through Amankwaah & Macklin down the right and they were both awesome as was the team performance and result, yet yesterday we abandon all that and hit the long ball, its never worked for us and never will

Only chance it may have worked was if we kept Barry Corr or had a target man, which we don't so why bother. I must say though for the first time I thought Macklin did well for us. Not our answer for goals this season but lively player none the less.

Paynter won his fair share of headers but with one player up front it's hard to make anything out of it. Corr or any other striker would have had the same problem.
