Lisbie went back to an old club, and has a generally poor scoring ratio.  The he's not good enough for us brigade would have had the full band out had we signed him.

I don't think we should sign Paynter, let him stay at Orient.

I see that the Dongs have signed Michael Bridges on a non-contract basis.

Now I know he might not be the best striker in the world, and he is getting on in years (or so it seems), but surely he had to be better than our second choice striker Wink

A second choice striker...half a season at most..on first choice strikers contract..they can afford to take chances...seems we cant Posh.

But he's on a non-contract basis, I'm assuming that means pay-as-you play and trying to earn a contract.
On that basis we could have got him in for a few weeks, at least we would have had two strikers to pick from.

Anyway, it's no good now as he's not available.

Have to say that I would have thought that we might do the same with one of the guys we had in on trial (although TBF I didn't go to any of the pre-season games so I don't know how bad they were).

Give them a short term contract, (month or so) to give them a chance to prove themselves, whilst at least it would have given us some options.

I can only assume that both AF & DW thought that they would have had something sorted by now otherwise.

I'm really confused on what the hold up is getting a striker unless we only get a loan, surely you make an offer it get's accepted you talk to the player agree terms or move on to your next target and start the process again
