Resigns from cambridge after 9 days.  Probably remember what a total abomination to footbal they were in the early 90's!

I heard that Cambridge have got a chairman with a bit of a screw lose (hence sacking Brabin and Quinn before him after both just missed out on promotion in playoff finals!).

Definitely something strange going on up there!

Perhaps he's heard there might be a vacancy coming up at the CG.... Wink

That is most odd indeed, there must be a lot going on in the backgroud he didn't like. Fair play to him for having the guts to walk away though.

I think its to do with money improving the squad. Thats why the last two managers left. They wanted a bit of cash to go that extra bit further but was always denied it.

In the Non-League Paper at the weekend, the Chairman told two other people they got the job, then hours before the announcement, they received a text saying they haven't got it !!

The chairman also wants to reduce the wage bill to £500k, but they are already over that.

The chairman sounds a bit dodgy to me.

Bizarre story, makes you wonder exactly what is going on there.  Makes you appreciate that, finally, we support a well-run football club.

From what Im hearing the chairman is a front for the directors who are trying to run it into the ground to get a share on the sale of the ground.

Good for Lingy for having the guts to walk away.I can remember Micky Adams doing the same
thing at Swansea.
