Eurgh Steve Claridge.

As long as Manish and co avoid patronising us lowly football league fans it'll be okay. Better than waking up on a Sunday for highlights.

He was seen in Macenzies, among other places.

Lovejoy is a muppet. Claridge is still too pally with all the players but is improving as a pundit.

They need to get Jonathan Wilson though.

I think Lovejoy and Spoony have been dropped from 606 this year.

Ok not dropped totally

Quote
BBC Radio 5 Live is to shake up its long-running football phone-in show, 606, with changes including the departure of the former Soccer AM presenter Tim Lovejoy.

Lovejoy, who first presented 606 two years ago, will no longer be one of the regular presenters but it is expected he will appear on a guest basis.

The new-look 606 will have two regular presenters, although the BBC has yet to confirm who they will be. "At least one of the two presenters, though, will be from the football commentary or punditry area," the corporation said.

Independent producers are being invited to bid to make the show, which will be cut to two programmes a week, on Saturday and Sunday evenings, after the weeknight 5 Live Sport programme was extended by 30 minutes to 10.30pm.

The 5 Live commissioning document said the successful producer must be able to demonstrate a "track record in delivering live radio". The budget for the Saturday edition of 606 is £2,200, and for Sunday £1,800.

606 is currently made by the independent producer Campbell Davison Media, which will also be able to apply for the new contract lasting for three series beginning in August. BBC in-house producers will not be able to apply.

The shake-up follows the changes to Radio 5 Live's weekend schedule announced last week, including a new Saturday morning show for Danny Baker and a Sunday morning programme for Absolute Radio breakfast presenter Christian O'Connell

Something about making it seem like your PC is in/from the UK, to do with the IP address?

I understand why the BBC can't make all this iPlayer stuff available to foreign countries for free, but I don't see any reason why they shouldn't make it available at a carefully set price for emigrants and anybody who wants to watch their shows

I guess it comes down to the rights they have for a lot of the sports stuff and shows which they don't produce themselves.

You definitely have a point with the sports stuff. As for other shows, I guess they may have to renegotiate various contracts before they could stream on a global scale.

Also it's a bit step in the BBC's remit, going from public broadcasting to providing a global subscription service.

Do a search on IP Hider and take your pick.  It's all too technical for me - I've tried doing it 'in reverse' to watch the hurling in Ireland now Setanta's gone - but failed   Sad
