How do they get away with all the shit they do on South Park?

I'm just watching Oprah's vagina holding everyone hostage at gun point, the constant references to and talking of her minge and arse hole is actually making me feel a bit sick. Though I thought the episode where Richard Dawkins is seen taking Mr/Mrs Garrison doggy style was their lowest point.

On the flip side, the entire episode they devoted to calling Bono a turd should have won awards (if it didn't).

My other favourite is the "shit" episode. Apparently, if they'd only used the word shit a few times it would have been bleeped out. But because they used it 162 times it wasn't as they felt the context justified its usage.

The Simpsons was always my favourite. I got bored of that and moved on to The Family Guy. I don't watch either of them now, its pretty much just South Park for me - it seems to be getting better with age rather than worse.

I was wondering this the other day, just exactly how they get away with half the stuff they do. Still, I'm not too bothered, just glad that it isn't overly censored.
