Striker, released by Everton, product of Oldham yoof system, 20 years, in 2008 loaned to Yeovil (0 appearance??!) and Macclesfield ( 3 appearances)
Just to save you looking it up in Wkipedia. ----- Worth a look I guess. Bit worried about the options up front at teh moment, but I guess there aren't any experienced strikers available at the right price. Or are there....

Yeah, just seen that, could be interesting! Hailed as the "New Rooney" when Everton signed him - here

Everton paid approx 200k for him when he was 16. Highly rated at Oldham as a youth team player but according to Evertonians he was nowhere near the standard required and failed to develop as expected. In the end he made a couple of reserve team appearances and became a forgotten man.
The same reserve team Jukebox Jury was playing in, which doesn’t exactly bode well if he couldn’t get a game.
Worth a look I’m sure but he sounds like our very own Mark Draycott.

He's not coming here...or Samba. http://www.thisisswindontownfc.co.uk/news/headlines/4505119.Striker_light_/I'm especially glad Samba isn't coming. We don't need a journeyman. And the Adver hacks wouldn't be able to stop talking about Samba football...which they haven't done now for 20 years since Ardiles was in charge.

Fuck that Ardiles.
If you can't talk about Samba football then what else is there to talk about?

whilst i understand us being thrifty and looking at free transfers there's usually a reason for them being released. i am now getting quite concerned that these seem to be the only players we're looking at, especially as we keep taking midfielders on when we've got bigger problems elsewhere.
i do have confidence in DW and don't claim to know the financial clout we have or which "irons are in the fire" i would have preferred us to have gotten past the 1 striker in a squad phase a while ago, and a left back.
yours faithfully

We have Kennedy, Timlin, Casal and Cuthbert who can play LB

The first and last seem reasonable options. I think Timlin and Casal can be positioned at left back - play is a real stretch.

Are we still considering Casal as an option anywhere on the pitch? The guy is clearly finished here.

I'd give him the captaincy. He's clearly a legend.
