What will happen at leeds if you dont go up rosie? Will there be a mass backlash? End of season i would have said you would finish top 3, now with takeovers and other traditional low spenders spending. (us, udders, Brighton etc) it's not looking as clear cut.

Well, every season it's said that "this has to be the season for Leeds United". Whilst this holds true again for us, i'd honestly state this is the last chance we have of getting out now. If not now, then it'll be a decade in this league. Our season is based on three men, in all honesty. Jermaine Beckford, Fabian Delph and Robert Snodgrass. Beckford is a goalscorer, and there's no doubting he'll get them, should he play. It looks, with his agent spouting off time and time again, more and more likely that he'll be a Leeds player for the season. However, it wasn't looking great at the start, so its got some way to go before it looks likely. Delph, we all know, he's a great talent. However, his second half of the season was poor, as he was stuck on left midfield. We need to keep him, or at least replace him well with some funds from him. The same applies to Beckford. Regarding Snoddy, he's simply a player we cannot lose. I'd say he's more irreplaceable than the other two. Goalscorers come ten a penny nowadays, and the money from Delph would make it easy to replace him. That's Beckford and Delph covered for. Snoddy though, is a player that has it all. Hes a rare talent, and i'd think he'd be hard to replace.

Basically, if these three stay, or are adequately replaced, we'll be fine... hopefully.

If this season doesn't work though, it may just be the last straw for so many fans. Not protests as such, but jsut not going to games anymore. It's Premiership prices for this kind of football, and we're yet to really see value for money. Any more sub-standard football, and it'll probably clear the stands.

True, if you base your judgements on the ThisIs forum then I would be ashamed to be a Swindon fan.....which I am not before you say! its just one slice of fanbase.
Ignore the member who practically ejaculated his testicle at the news of this signing (Gazza, is it?) and you're an alright bunch Smiley

Never seen Snodgrass, i'll keep an eye out for him this season, although if he's as good as you say, sounds like he might be picked off.

How the media haven't highlighted him more is a joke, in all fairness. Although, a good one for us, at that. We don't really want to have teams sniffing around him. He should've been player of the year at our annual awards, but, well, you can't really not give it to a striker whos got 34 goals in 37 appearances.

But yeah, Snoddy's been a great find. Deceptive pace, chips in with goals (got eleven last season I believe) and sets up many goals (Again, just what I can recall, but I think 14 assists).

pah, you want to take the piss out of me already?, I already get that from Swindon fans who are acutely aware of my window licking spasticated tendencies.

On a serious note though, you complain about high ticket prices etc, we had them for years, its all part of being a lower league club and fighting to survive due the complete dominance and ignorance of the premier league raping and pillaging English football for personal gain. Leeds yes are a big club and if your fans complain and boycott the club due to ticket prices etc, perhaps it will again highlight the plight of lower league clubs who have to fight tooth and nail each season just to make it through the season.

To be fair, its more the promises that came with the prices. We were told Premiership prices, but with a Premiership standard. Obviously we didn't realise expect Premiership stars, but we expected something. We have done for years, and to be fair, we haven't been to unfair with our expectations. We've been promised a lot, only to be screwed over. The fact that we have paid in recent years more than the likes of Blackburn Rovers fans and Aston Villa fans is just a disgrace!

Anyway, this is a Swindon forum that's obviously excited at the news of a good signing, so i'll let you all be and enjoy the rest of your pre-season. Good luck for the upcoming season, I may be back when our teams soon face each other Smiley

Have silly prices for League One Football. The best way to vote is with your feet really as you say. Leeds charge silly prices because people will pay it. We had £23.00 for L1 football for a couple seasons (before that £21.00).

IF the crowds drop to say around 15-17K a match the board will think huh whats going on here? It makes more sense to say charge £19.00 and get 27K (£513.000 per game) than £25.00 with 16k gates (£400,000 per game), maybe a slight exaggeration but you get my drift. Fans who pay £19.00 for a ticket are more likely to buy food, programmes etc thus increasing profit despite ticket prices being less. Basic business one would think?

We are lucky we are run now by a decent board who have a bit of common sense and actually listen to the fans. Before we were run by a board who really didn’t have any clue about football and just struggled from crisis to crisis not caring if they alienated the fan base. Yes they probably genuinely did want success and the financial rewards that go with it, however didn’t have a clue. I did sympathise with the old board though. Our season ticket base I think was around about 2k 3 seasons ago now its around 4,700 I would say which is great considering we finished just off relegation last year.

In regards to Douglas, there are probably a few reasons why he came here, a) Lucas probably put in a good word, b) we have a well run club who are in no financial trouble c) a hell of a sales pitch. Only Douglas can say why he came here. For me it’s a cracking signing, A player who can lead. He has been captain at Leeds a team who has been there or there about so he must know a thing or 2 on how  to lead a team. With Douglas in midfield and Greer at the back our team should be more vocal and have a better idea at what they are doing this year. Yes we need a striker or 2 to get us over that final hurdle, should we get them, don’t be surprised if we are having a good go of it this season.
