PDC: "Send me off, we will win this league anyway"

Saw this on that "trusted" site known as www.football-rumours.com

Don't know if there's any truth in it but this is what's said:

"Swindon Town are set to make a shock move for out–of–contract striker Stern John. The striker who spent last season at Bristol City is thought to be disappointed at the lack of offers at Championship level, and might have to drop down a league. Currently on trial at Southampton to keep fit, John could complete a move to Swindon by Wednesday if no better offer appears."

No, his real name's Inexorable John, but people can't spell it or pronounce it so he shortens it to Stern.

Scored a few goals in the past but nothing to get excited about.  I used to read that website for a laugh - its all made up, so not exactly an interesting guide.  About as likely to get a story right as the Sun.

I would say that scoring 215 goals in 508 games, including 69 goals in 107 international games is more than just "a few goals"!

But he wont come to us anyway.

A like the word "few" - loose definition!  But I take your point, didn't realise that his record was so good.

Certainly rules him out from joining us!

Actually I never realised he had such a good scoring record, I knew he did well at international level but he has actually scored a fair few in his long career......so far, that would change if he signed for us....ala Thorpe and Cureton!

I'm probably in the minority but I reckon he would be a good signing. Still got a few seasons left in him and his scoring record is above average. Wouldn't hurt having his experience either.
