Hi, I'm new to this Town forum so give us a chance!! Saw this on www.football-rumours.comI know it's not the most legitimate website but it says "Swindon Town are to complete the triple signings of Jonathan Douglas, Alan O' Brien and Danny Webber next week" Haven't heard anything of Danny Webber signing at all. Anybody want to shed some light on this??

http://thetownend.com/index.php/topic,28647.1530.htmlThere's some stuff about Webber on that page. Seems like someone has read the rumours thread and put 2+2 together, really.

If we signed 1 out of those 3 players I would be happy. 2, ecstatic. 3, well that's not going to happen really is it!!

Agreed. I think the only one we MAY sign is O'Brien, but if by any possibilty we got 2 or 3 I would be very happy.

Yep, think we have a good chance of signing O'Brien, things are looking positive for him, but then again things looked quite positive with Robinson as well so not getting my hopes up too much!!

Yeah, learn our lesson with Theo, and to be honest there were a lot of good players linked when MM was in charge too that never materialized, so lets just wait and see, with fingers crossed.

Cheers LJ9 i've not seen that site before,Webber is an interesting one,it says he struggled with injury last season yet he made 41 appearances according to wiki.
If he's not to injury prone i reckon he would decent job in this league for us.

The site is funny, just a load of people who play a bit too much Footy Manager posting rubbish!
Having said that obviously Wilson has already mentioned two of these three. Webber is an interesting one, would think he could do a very good job at this level, was released by Sheff U at the end of the season so would fit into the category of player Wilson wants, ie championship experience and i wouldn't be suprised if they are looking at paying some serious wages to some of these players instead of spanking the cash we get from Cox on transfer fees.

Is is a really funny website with people saying they "have great contacts" at these Premier clubs through the kit manager's dog etc but going on there regularly (for a laugh I might add!!), I've never seen any Swindon murmurings so I thought I'd flag it up.
Webber was always somebody that always seemed to of stood out in games I've seen him play in and I think his signing would be a massive boost.

Just like this one then. Regardless of whether the rumour is true or not, I feel that Webber would be a very good signing for us. It is, however, my opinion that he is far more likely to stay up north, which is where he is from.

I'm glad Greer (Scottish based in the North) and Lucas (Northern) or possibly O'Brien (Irish living in Scotland) didn't have that mentality - we'd be in big trouble otherwise!
