Wilson urges fans to be patient

Swindon manager Danny Wilson has asked the club's supporters to be patient as he builds a squad for the new season.

It's not really though is it. We actually have a manager who's well rehearsed in building decent sides this time.

Patience is the key, and to me, all this says is that we're trying to attract a higher calibre of player.

I'm sure we could have snapped up a few if we wanted to by now, but they wouldn't have been guys that are any better than what we released. I'd rather be in this position than signing cast off's just to make up the numbers.

Forget about the Malice Maurpass pre-season, this is an entirely different set up.  Wilson and his management team should attract decent players.  If one or two prefer spending their time in the crappy Yorkshire weather, playing for Huddersfield, then so be it. 

There was a story years ago of Bill Shankley visiting a Scottish club for a potential signing, and in doing so he demonstrated how to best use a brush to clean a dressing room floor.  The potential signing couldn't be arsed to give it a try, so Bill said his goodbyes and didn't sign the player.  You had to have character to play in Bill's Liverpool team.  Huddersfield are doing us a favour with Theodore.
