right - I've fucking given up!!!!
haven't had Firefox 3.0.11 able to get Ebay listings in a usable manner  for a long time now (just waits forever - gets the page eventually after 5 minutes).
No bother, I've got IE (7.0.57.30.11 currently) now that returns the same page when you try next, right arrow and put the page number in to go on to the next page (it has however paged once but is not consistent)
Opera just hangs in wait longer than Firefox   !!!
before I go back to a workable IE 7 or even IE 6 (don't want to change Firefox has anybody got any ideas.

Java is enabled for all browsers, cookies and cache have been cleared several times. winsockxpfix has been run
it looks like I'm not allowing access to ebays javascript files but my Zonealarm pro has it allowed (I think)

Any ideas chaps?Huh?

Yep it will be zonealarm and firefox not working well together. If you turn off the privacy settings in zonealarm it should work and confirm this is the problem.

If this does resolve the issue then the solution is to get another firewall. I used to think zonealarm was quality but it's had far too many issue in the past couple of years.

but it's not just Firefox Si - I had that big issue earlier this year with ZA but they sorted it within 2 days. I've had far more crap from BT.
It's just weird that IE has crapped out - I'll go back a few issues and see what happens

if you think of anything let me know - cheers

So it still doesn't work with zonealarm turned off then? The only thing I can think of is some proxy setting needs to be applied for your ISP, I remember something similar happening with NTL and this sorted it.

You mention BT, have you reset your home hub if you have one of those? I'll try and think/investigate some more.
