Raheem Conte (trialist this summer) becomes Morecambe’s 3rd signing of the day.

Talented boy. Lacking a nailed down position.

Not good enough (in my opinion) to be a #10 in the EFL and build a team around.

Not physical enough to be a #8

Left wing back could be his saving grace like Iandolo.

On the subject of Jake Cain (and something I’ve bought up countless times before)

…but…wtf happened to Tom Clayton?

Was genuinely decent for us - got injured, had a set back, got released over a year ago & nothing.

Not even seen his name linked to any club, not seen his name appear even as a rumoured trialist. Not in with any of PFA free agent squad lists or whatever they are called….nor any sort of retirement whispers either.

He’s just literally completely disappeared from the football landscape which is a shame for a variety of reasons.

Even a quick glance at his social media & there is nothing since late 2023 on there.

I believe that  injury has been the issue, but that is based only on not playing at any level that I could find since leaving Swindon.  Possibly, he wants his career outside of football to remain a private matter, if so that is his choice.  Good luck, hopefully you are doing well, Tom.

I mean obviously Tom doesn’t have disclose his entire life publicly - no one does & he might absolutely be enjoying the anonymity.

Hell, he might even be glad to be out of football. He might have family business he’s part of. He might be a genius with masters degree.

Either way - I just hope it’s along those lines & not the other direction that a lot of ex pro’s go down when their career stalls / ends.

Nearly had a fight with him & also nearly hit him with my car.
Both completely separate & unrelated incidents but true story none the less.
