Honestly thought he'd end up somewhere, well, a bit better - league 1 .

So, why not sign on again for the Town? It doesn't seem to make sense unless he anticipated less playing time this season.

Holloway said that he wanted more money. Said the offer would remain on the table until a certain date. Never came back & when he did saying he would stay, Holloway had moved on.

Holloway said at the kit release event that one of the players he offered a new deal to was told they had 7 days to sign, then went on holiday and didn’t get back to him.
I’m assuming that was Ofoborh, as the club had already reported that Bycroft was exploring his options elsewhere.

Sad about Ofoborh.
Perhaps we under paid him as we held the cards previously as he had barely kicked a ball for years.
Understandably now he wants to be paid what he is worth, but with him not being an essential cog, we have chosen not to?
It's a real shame as you could tell by his celebrations how invested he was to play for us, even when he wasn't involved in the goals directly.

I’ll be honest, I thought the hype never matched up to the game. As harsh as this might sound, take the back story away & what did he really offer? Other than a celebrated goal or two.

Ofoborh was built perfectly for L2, a necessary bit of muscle next to the more slightly Kilkenny/Cotterill types. And people quickly forget that there was some footballing ability there when he won it back. Thought he was always solid for STFC and we'll miss him. Shame how it's gone, but not surprised he's back at top end L2. L1 would have been a bit of a leap perhaps.
Bigger issue is that we haven't replaced Ofoborh and his physicality yet.
Oldaker (deep lying playmaker, pretty footballer?), Ball (injury prone. job sharing with Ollie Clarke at RCB seems to be the chat?), Snowdon (attacking midfielder, Prem U21s punt), Nichols (has played CM under Holloway, but certainly not a ball winner), Mitchell (has looked like a younger/learning Kilkenny type when i've seen him).

Ofoborh was decent.
He was a decent holding midfield with the necessary physicality & ability to play a bit.
Basically what the large majority of us had been claiming we were missing since Anthony Grant was here. It took us what? 3-4 years to replace him & he wasn’t exactly a top end ranger rover footballer. He was just very, very effective in a position that compared to a lot of positions is quite niche these days.
I think it’s a shame & I think we will miss him.

He was nowhere near Grants level, but was decent enough. Had a bit of skill about him, and the right amount of shithouse. Weird that you'd turn down a guaranteed contract to go and train somewhere else, maybe it was just the right time to move on.
Think we'll fair better than Cambridge next season, as much of a shit show as we are behind the scenes.

Maybe he was ill advised and thought that League 1 teams would be after him... Can't see any advantage for him by going to Cambridge when he was established at Swindon and was well liked by the coaching staff, players and fans.
