Tshimanga was being paid plenty, but we weren't paying all of it, hence MacAnthony getting the hump last summer and the deal taking so long to do.

Not having a dig at you mate but I dont know why people are suggesting Tshimanga was a massive earner, he wasnt even in the top 5 wages last season with us si I have been told.
Ollie said we were likely to be priced out. Just saying he's not worth breaking the wage structure for (based on that and a guess at his Boro wages).

We did table an offer to Tshimanga when the season ended but imagine the situation was similar to Bycroft/Ofoborh and we moved on once we realised it won’t be accepted anytime soon.

UmBongo served us well IMO.
Fell over constantly until Holloway came in. Improved without getting us excited...missed some sitters but buried quite a few Pens.
Good luck to him except against us.

Hope he gets a deal, he was the absolute man in the academy until he got an awful injury at exactly the wrong time. I do think he's a bit of a cautionary tale on why taking the money as a kid really isn't a bad idea.

From what I have heard a team in the Championship were ready to make a move for him until his injury happened, that put them right off. Be a good signing if they can get him back to full fitness, theres a player in there.

Indeed, he was basically going to be our 4th striker after Wakeling was sold

Posh chairman has “recommended” Wakeling to FGR. Apparently wants 80k + add ons. According to their paper.
Not sure how much we got for him but that feels a significant drop off in value. Didn’t realise he hadn’t started a game for Peterborough either.
Also mentioned they paid £20k for Joe Andrews from Chippenham. Wonder if he was on our radar, being just down the road.

A few people used that as a stick to beat the club with at the time, but he'd only been at Chippenham for 7 months after leaving the Southampton academy. Fair play to Posh for taking the gamble IMO. I imagine plenty of fans of clubs in Bucks and Herts will be complaining they didn't get hold of Tabor form Amersham if he goes on to be a success.
