Nile Ranger scores for Kettering Town in the Southern League Premier Central play-off final but AFC Telford win promotion by winning 4-2.

Chris Martin (Bristol Rovers), Angus MacDonald (Exeter), Hallam Hope (Morecambe) and Danny Ward (Huddersfield) all released/leaving their clubs.

Danny Ward would be the only one of those I would consider having back.

What is the longest spell between Swindon Town appearances by a player?
I assume Charlie Austin 25th January 2011 - 14th January 2023. 11 years, 11 months, 21 days.
Obviously Danny Ward would beat that with 29th May 2010 - 8th(?) August 2025. 15 years, 2 months, 11 days.
No idea if he can still go tbh.

Toumani Diagouraga’s last game in his first spell was 06/05/2006 and then 2nd debut was 07/08/2018 so a gap of 12 years, 3 months and 1 day (4476 days).

Obviously did very well for us previously and his appearance record since leaving is pretty solid although he appears to have missed a lot of games this season. Legs gone? 34 years old...possibly...or just out of favour?

Nicky Summerbee just falls short of that, end of the 1993/94 season then came back in August 2005...
Tyreese Simpson could be worth a look, not sure about the others.
Would love to see Billy Bodin back - can see that happening.

I can see Bodin happening as well...he didn't get much of a chance first time round. I remember him missing a one on one vs Cheltenham (I think) and with Di Canio not being known for his patience, I've a feeling that was his last appearance for us...I might have mis-remembered that...

I know Paul Rideout was about 9 years after he left us until he came back, a bit less but still a fair old time. Debut in November 1980, left in May 82 and returned March 91.

Obviously Ali Koiki must have been on our books at some point hence his inclusion in this thread...but I have no recollection of him whatsoever....

I remember him because my eldest subbed in as a ball boy on the last day of the season, then got his shirt depriving all the other proper ball boys the chance 😁 Still fits him now!
