Nestor Lorenzo chief coach of Colombia. On Sunday, he guided the Cafeteros to the final of the Copa America on the back of a 24 game unbeaten run.  Unfortunately the Cafeteros lost 1-0 in extra time, ironically to his native Argentina. His greatest moment in football remains a debut goal in a 3-0 win over Pompey at the CG.

Reckon people on the fb group would take him as next manager?

He was interested before, Rich talked about it on the LSPod that Lorenzo basically asked him to forward his CV to the club!

Think we may have missed one there.

Not a loss IMO. Good at times, woeful at others.

Went to Supermarine v Hereford last night. Hereford had Paul Caddis as manager and Andy Williams and Adam Rooney up front. They've just signed Matt Preston as well who looks a couple of stone lighter than when he played for us. 2-1 to them with Andy Williams scoring one and making one.

Andy Williams and Adam Rooney must be a fairly immobile strike force at this point?

They looked ok. Difficult to judge in a pre season friendly but both put a shift in.
Andy Williams was one of those players who I think could have played at a higher level. Decent build, blistering pace but never seemed to have the heart or confidence. A player, once kicked, could disappear.
I think Rooney was shafted by us to get his allegedly 8k wages off the bill.
Apparently Caddis and Rooney were both very approachable and chatty.

He had the presence of a Poltergeist.  It irritates me a little when fans will let players off (not that I am saying you are) because they "have a good pass in them" or "has a good finish".  Any player who makes the professional level can do that, it's about imposing themselves on a game.  Devoy, like Aguiar, gets lost in games far too often.  In both cases, Non-league level is theirs.

I understand what you are saying, because a player at times can look a player, sometimes just looking a player isnt enough.

Devoy=Aguiar for me, both could pick out a pass at times and have a shot that looks great too occassionally but their approach play and overall game is just weak, both missing simple passes and looked afraid to tackle at times.

If we had signed Devoy he would be no more than a bench warmer this coming season at best anyway.

From what I've seen not all league two players can pick a pass or a shot.

At least with Aguiar I can understand why we gave it a go, Devoy was a waste of a loan slot.
