I think another season at Champ level is sensible and more organic route upwards. He's had a relatively quick rise in just about 3yrs from L2 to the verge of Prem. Usually these quick rises also end with steep falls. Better to sustain another year at Champ level to prove he can offer consistency. It will then give Burnley something to think about if he's doing really well. Plus January window could then bear fruits with a perm move to another prem club, an improved contract extension and/or an involvement with the Burnley squad inc game time. When you think about it, c5 months on loan to then be an even stronger position is definitely well worth it. Rather than an immediate deep end or unused sub time in the prem. Lad will get his chance I'm sure but it's just not yet. No doubt he had a fantastic season and hand in helping Burnley get promoted last season. Anyone who already forgot his absolute worldie of a free kick on't tele last season probably wanted England Women to lose today  |
