Struggling to even remember him, if I'm honest. Probably says a lot.

I get most players get better over time. And the first loan is a lot for a youngster to cope with.

But what do the loan or loaning club look at after a shit load and think, yup time to move him up a league?

genuinely interested. I assume it's a bit of video analysis, stats at whatever level he plays at (u23?) and scouting.

I suppose they think the player wasn't utilised correctly or often enough at their previous club and think they can get a tune out of their skillset and maximise their potential.

Gilbert was probably supposed to be a starter with us but McKirdys form made it impossible for him to get a run in the side, and when he did play, he didn't show enough. FGR / Exeter may feel they can get him up and running.

According to one of those wanky Swindon ITK twitter accounts Rob Hunt is no longer on trial at the Creepies. Whether that means he’s signed permanently or they’ve given him the heave-ho isn’t clear.

Would anybody take Hunt back on our terms?

Or have we moved on

I think the fact I'd be underwhelmed if he rocked up back here says it all.

Not good enough for league one. Same as Barry.

YET anyway.

Barry was a massive upgrade on Gilbert, who just looked lost.   He didn't seem to know where to be on or off the ball and never threatened.   He started away to Newport, which I think was his final game for us and it was one of the most ineffectual performances I've ever seen in a town shirt, especially given it was div 4.

Made Dossevi/pericard look like Paynter/Austin.

He looked ok at Stevenage but so did JML.  Utter, utter shite.   Wish him well and hope he kicks on but not convinced his football brain is up to it.

Barry had far more about him and made real impacts in games, Harrogate away being stand out.   Inconsistent and raw yes but definitely something there.

Think if we’d had Barry on loan from August he’d have been tearing it up back end of the season…

If we’d had Barry in August he’d have been re-called in January.

Pal of mine has a date with Phil Smith upcoming. She’s stupidly told me where it’s happening. Textbook error

Can’t believe I missed the opportunity to tell her that. I’ll rectify it now
