We understand that @EastleighFC are closing in on a move for former #afcb and #pompey striker Brett Pitman The 34 year old was told that he could leave Bristol Rovers last week #spitfires https://t.co/ecmuiMKtPq

I was feeling a bit bored, after watching us be shit at home again, and had a look at just how much better our results have been at home with Garner over Sheridan.
In Sheridan's first 13 games at home we won four games and amassed 13 points. Under Garner we have won three, but have drawn 7 to give us 16 points.
Now clearly we are much better, and our away form has been outstanding (which is our saving grace) but does put into perspective how bad we have been at home

blimey.
and given the majority of our fans see us at home, it probably explains a bit of the Debbie Downer vibe

Apart from the L2 Championship season home form has been generally poor since 2015-16.

Our overall home form has been shit since the 2016 season for sure as you rightly state excepting the truncated season when we won the championship in L2. League home form 16-17 W7 D6 L10 - F23 A24 17-18 W9 D5 L9 - F29 A36 18-19 W8 D9 L6 - F31 A27 19-20 W13 D2 L4 - F34 A17 20-21 W8 D1 L14 - F25 A38 21-22 W3 D7 L3 - F17 A15 League & cup home form combined 16-17 W8 D7 L15 - F28 A31 17-18 W10 D5 L10 - F32 A39 18-19 W10 D9 L9 - F34 A33 19-20 W13 D2 L7 - F36 A24 20-21 W8 D1 L18 - F32 A50 21-22 W5 D7 L5 - F25 A23

It's very puzzling. We are on our 6th different manager in that time, all with differing styles of play in general and only Wellens managed to figure out how to win at home. Maybe a combination of system, lack of quality in squads coupled with the general downward spiral under the previous ownership.

It is puzzling, we just can't see to get results at home consistantly at all in recent years.
If you exclude the Wellens championship season - in the other 5 seasons we have won only 35 league games at home, had 28 draws and a huge 42 defeats thats an average of more than 8 a season.
Back in the 70s and 80s we rarely lost more than 4 or 5 at home but that stat was almost the opposite in away games.
I had a quick check on the "olden days" some random years in the 70's and early 80s and we were a fortress at home and far poorer away from home.
82-83 6 wins away wins but 13 at home 78-79 6 wins away wins but 19 at home 77-78 4 wins away wins but 12 at home 76-77 2 wins away wins but 12 at home 74-75 3 wins away wins but 18 at home
Why has this almost changed round to the polar opposite?
As you state thats under 6 different managers, our fans get frustrated but rarely get on the players backs even in a run of poor results so it cant be fan frustration boiling over onto the pitch and affecting the players.
It is just weird and unfathomable as to the reasons behind our poor home form in recent years.

You could say that about our Wembley visits. 3 straight wins followed by 3 shite defeats.

Apart from the Wellens season we were, generally, shite under Flitcroft, Brown, Sheridactyl.
This season is the only real mystery but it happens fairly regularly at other clubs too.
