Not an ex player, but I picked up via Twitter that former assistant manger in the late 1970s Will Tranter died recently.
The side he and Bob Smith had in 1979-80 was really exciting, with Mayes and Rowland up front - and a terrific league cup run that year too.
Was reported in the Whos snuffed it thread mate. |

Yes and he still has family down there, I would have been fairly happy if he has been kept on, hes still better than Grounds and Baudry for me. Eastleigh pay quite good wages though and always fork out for decent players at that level they just haven't quite managed the elusive promotion yet. |

Yep. He was playing well before then but never seemed to recover. Maybe a new setting will do him well. |
