Scored for fun when they were promoted from the Championship - excellent addition for League 1 level if he’s up for it and would get in any side.

I never had a problem with him and as yet,  no Town fan has given me a satisfactory, rational reason for their hate...

I’ve always found it a ‘pantomime villain’ type of ‘hate’ whenever he has returned rather than anything else. I seem to recall him running the length of the Arkells after a goal for Coventry  Cheesy

He seems to have a pretty decent scoring record, but on the other hand, has had a lot of clubs.
It seems every permanent club he's had, he's then been farmed out on loan during that contract.
Either he's unlucky, or he's a bit of a dick.

I've not seen anybody say they hate him.

It's just that he acted a bit of a tool. Throwing a strop live on TV because you (a professional athlete) are asked to do some extra cardio is a bit of a bellendish thing to do.

OK, no one actually used the word hate but at the same time, no one has a good word to say about him.

I thought he was pretty badly (and unprofessionally) treated by the Italians...and we lost a potentially very valuable player on the back of all that.

No one has ever given a satisfactory end to the the sentence, "Leon Clark is a cunt because...

It's an absolute fucking myth...

Let's just say Di Canio acted unprofessionally many more times during his football/managerial career than Clarke has!

Didnt Flint get him sent off at the CG when he played for Scunthorpe? That was amusing

Clarke throwing a strop and Di Canio bombing him out was the catalyst for our best two season since the 90s.

It seemed to galvanise everyone.

I was really disappointed with the Leon Clarke incident. I thought that he looked really good and had the potential to have been one of the best strikers we'd had at the club ever. But, as with all lower league players, there is always something missing. Temperament seems to be the thing with Clarke. Di Canio was certainly in the wrong for his handling of the situation, but Clarke could have handled it better and could have been plying his trade in the Premier League had he done so.

Of course it also showed everyone else in the team who was the boss, mess with him and you’re out, no if’s but’s or maybe’s.

To his credit, his talents are more in demand than Dux‘s these days.

He cried on our pitch.....

FWIW he is a great signing even at 35 in L1, I think he will do well there, I don't have a problem with him but the whole incident was bizarre with PdC to say the least.
