Still, every defender only has to look at a striker these days to give away a free kick. Would be a good presence alongside Conroy. If only for a season. Nice bloke too, even if that means diddly squat!

Ipswich are a funny outfit, they used to be a regular opponent in the days of Div 3S, and I've a copy of the Ipswich equivalent of the Pink, from 55 when Alf Ramsey had just taken over and they stuffed us 6-2. Alf took them up and to the Title in 61-62.... they then had another golden period under Bobby Robson, in the 70's/80's. Yoyo'd a bit but have been stuck in Div 2 since 02.  It's not easy standing still in a league, in that time I can't really remember them getting close to going up or being involved in a struggle, you do get a sense if it happened they might not know what to do.
