I wouldn't include Romanski. He's only just turned 18. I'd be surprised if there's an intention to use him, unless he's particularly good of course.
I thought he looked fine in the game he played and is well worth blooding in the Carpet Vans Trophy or whatever its called this year but I am not sure he is ready for the first team and would not include him in the list oif 1st teamers either.

He is big and has a bit of pace, isn't bad in the air but need sbuilding up his strength a bit first, a loan to Chippenham etc would be great for him.

He has not accepted his contract, lets not get ahead of ourselves!

I also wouldn't include Robertson. Brown clearly does not rate him and hung him out to dry on the phone in.

Hope he doesn't use him, he was the one I thought was of least use.

so other than a potentially crocked Lancashire, an unusable Robertson, an unsigned Romanski, McGiven and Taylor the back 4 picks itself Smiley

I don't think Preston is or was shit, hes just not as good as some fans make out, (no I don't mean you of course) he is a fairly good CB at L2 level but saying that so could be Lancashire if he gets back to fitness alongside somebody half decent. Mayo could be if he had a good partner playing also.

There were many games when he was playing that we looked more solid at the back, there were also some games when we looked better without him in the side at the back. Mayo has twice the pace of Preston for instance when up against a speedy forward.

I would have liked to have kept him but we can replace him with comparable for probably less money so its no huge loss IMO. He always looked slow when tracking back and got caught out several times for pace, but thats to be expected with the standard of player at this level.

I thought that MP's pace was his main asset as a defender!
Seemed quick over 5 or 10 yards and managed most of the time to just nick the ball away.
Distribution was hopeless though, but not a problem in a Flitcroft team.

Hopefully a fit Conroy will progress well with PB.

Really? I saw him about 10 times and I though he was often beaten for pace by strikers running past him which was why he gave away so many fouls.

He would like to think that wouldn't he Wink all I remember was the Coventry and Lincoln penalties he gave away he was clumsy and well behind men breaking away from him with pace.

Even Hylton ran him ragged home to Luton and Hylton is not quick by any means.

10 seconds in.

30 seconds in.

There are more but off the top of my head I don't remember.

Tom Smith to Cheltenham confirmed.

Good move for him. We'll soon see if he was the second coming of Micky Hazard or Miles Storey...

Handy youngster with talent if not application, could still go either way, good luck to him just not against us.

Michael Pook might be a better comparison... he did OK there, the late hat-trick at the Pirelli for a 6-5 win, a decent memory to have. Still only 32, time is a funny old thing.
