Lloyd Macklin has been released by Basingstoke Town although what caught my eye on their forum was this post:
"Really sorry to see Glenn Southam go, less so Shaun Macauley who struggled this season, and least of all Lloyd Macklin: Quick, good work ethic earlier in the season but with a first touch of a ... and as a finisher, Macklin couldn't hit a barn door with an intercontinental ballistic missile. "That said, Macklin did manage one remarkable feat - with his foul-mouthed 'Shut the Fuck Up' reply to a perfectly polite fan who merely said 'You had time there, Lloyd!' Macklin managed to usurp Liam Enver-Marum as my least favourite BTFC player."
His bad attitude was major part of his being released by Swindon and Torquay in the past. Good to see he's consistant.

Was it Macklin who broke his leg in one of his early appearances and somehow played on for the rest of the game?

Shame. He scored shit loads of goals for our reserves from the wing one season. I really thought he was gonna develop into something special for us at the time.

Tom Heaton only joined Burnley because of Bristol City's relegation. That worked out for him.

Because whilst not being a world beater he was nowhere near as bad as Town fans made out, was another of our many regular scapegoats.

And he was what, 21 when he was here? Funnily enough, as a CB, he carried on developing and is now one of their most valuable assets, with a new, improved contract signed in the winter.
