I don't think he was that bad, just that with the big price tag, people expected something a bit better.

Compared with the £400K on Darren Bullock and £330K on Drysdale, £650K on Robinson and getting 7/8 years out of him wasn't bad money

Robinson I think has a season ticket in the DRS. He had massive shoes to fill after Kerslake and Summerbee. He was a good servant for us. Like Oaksey writes, there's a long list of players which didn't work out as well.

To be fair, during the 95/96 McMahon promotion season, he came in for Seagraves as an emergency centre half, ended up playing a lot of games there and he was excellent.

So it wasn't all bad. He was ridiculously over priced though.

Ever present in the league that season too.

Yeah solid but unspectacular. I think it was the price that confused people into thinking we were getting another Kerslake. It did me for sure.

I always felt he played better as a centre half anyway.

Robinson was a great wing back for us. You don't play over 250 games for us and get labelled crap.

The chap deserves more respect from Town fans.

I will never forget the 95/96 season, he was amazing. (A lot better crossing than Brad Smith atm)

Fair play to him for the continuing buying season tickets. Top man.

Didn't Robinson get sent off once for absolutely clattering John McGinley...

Assuming I havent imagined that, its worth the transfer fee alone.

League Cup Semi Final First Leg at the CG - actually the WJMc gets away with yet another late niggly foul, drawing a retaliation from Robinson (off camera) and our Robbo is sent off.  My face was contorted with rage as I gestured angrily at the ref which was a bit embarrassing as I knew him in a business context.  It was Paul Alcock to whom Paolo more emphatically showed his disapproval to a red card.

Start the clip at 26'30" if you want the incident in all its vile glory.

That jock cunt elbowed him and Robinson lost it and belted him as I remember.

Top cunt McGinley.
