I thought he had no control over transfers at Sunderland?
I thought it was the negotiations that he didn't get involved with, might be wrong though.

I would've taken him to the WC. Certainly a better natural goalscorer than Carroll and Welbeck, which we've been desperately missing since Shearer retired. Steve Bull was taken to Italia 90, yet hardly played a game in the top division.

The best finisher I have ever seen in a swindon shirt.....not the skill, vision etc etc etc....but you can't train that instinct....he just had it.....I never will boo him ever. That goal at saints is tattooed in my memory for ever.

I agree on all counts, the goal at Saints was brilliant and crucial.

Not League 1 top goal scorer though. Yes I know he was out with injury but why put him ahead of say, Danny Ings who has u21 experience as well?

And just a thought for all those doomsters - in the same league as us that season were Stockport County and Bristol Rovers. A mere 4 years ago.

And more consistent. He has scored goals in every side he has played in...and at a good rate when he plays. Don't forget he was the first player to hit 20 goals in the Championship in 2012/13, and when we played Burnley in the LC, you can tell how physically he had come on since he left us. Of course, if he didn't 'fail' that medical at Hull, he would've been playing in the PL last season.

That is what may stop his move to the premiership his dodgy shoulder it would take a club to take a risk on him much like QPR decided to when he failed his medical with them - and his shoulder popped

There's always a risk in signing a player, but the failed medical was to do with his knee I think.

I believe the op he has recently had will solve that.
