It was when we had a fire sale after going into admin in 99/00...basically any player who could command any sort of fee was sold...cost our place in the second tier, and we've not been back since.

Come on Reg, most of us on here remember the 1999/00 season!

For anyone who doesn't... Lucky you.

I vaguely remember us being shite. I went to the Charlton game where we were bottom and they were top. And we won 1-0? I was only 6 but it sticks out in the memory.

I salute the generations following mine. You've had very little to shout about.

My highlights as a fan have been 03/04, 06/07, 09/10. So 1 promotion in 11 years. Grim.

Yup. And along with 3 points they gave us money so our youth could play in the milk cup.

Didn't we draw 1-1 at high-flying Wolves that year too with George Ndah scoring (or we possibly won 1-0??).  That was back in the days I used to watch the games live on Teletext....

that was probably iffy's penalty and talia's finest performance culminating in a near last minute equaliser from wolves - they had peppered our goal all game long.

i enjoyed quinn coming on against birmingham and st andrews' stunned silence when we equalised late on

I loved teletext. We still have it here, and you can still watch the games live (they even display bookings & subs) on teletext
