Adebeyo and Danny Ward on the scoresheet in early games. McKirdy gets a first start for Hibs
Yates 2 for Blackpool so far too.

This popped up on Facebook earlier, old boys Broomes and Lucas in pretty esteemed company for the u20's, and some left field ones in there as well.

Similar side to the U21 game at the County Ground a couple of months earlier - Broomes at CB pushing Carragher out to the side.

Ha, just bought back a memory.

So, about 6 weeks ago I posted about attending a mates funeral. Anyways, he could be stubborn, we mostly played football down the park after school/college/work - he was competitive, stubborn (as was I) and we were chalk and cheese on the football pitch and on several occasions nearly came to actually blows over disagreements.

The type of disagreements that don’t happen anymore due to smart phones and google. We are obviously going back to the early 2000

One of our disagreements was him claiming he watched James Beattie play for England Under 21s at the CG in the aforementioned game.

I told him he was wrong (because he was) but he obviously thought the was right. I even went as far as to say he was mixing up James Beattie with Darren Huckerby.

Right up their with punches thrown over who Arsenal (his team!) signed wonderkid (!!) Jermaine Pennant from - Nottm Forest (him) or Notts County (me)

…man, I miss the days when shit like that was the most important things in our lives.

Garner goes 4-4-2 with Charlton last night and they beat Pompey 3-0.

Lesson to be learned?

442 seems to be making a comeback, noticed a few clubs doing it recently.

Mike Bassett would be proud

I looked at the game on the sky sports app and saw that Sky had them lined up in a 442.
Is there any accuracy to this? I mean Sky haven’t always got out formation or player position accurate.

According to the Charlton website it was a 'very fluid 4-4-2'

The Beeb - who are probably no more reliable than Sky reported that both sides lined up in 4-4-2 formations
