I would think england will be beat us in the final - the fact that Manuel Neuer has been our best player tells the full story.

England suffer from the same disease as the senior team, namely an inability to keep the ball....which inevitably means at some point we come under a lot of pressure, when playing technically decent sides.  Against the Swedes, we got away with it just, because of their more or less total inability to deal with corners.  I guess we'll go with Walcott up front and Milner and Johnson wide.  Hart will be a miss though, because he's a bit of a character...gives off a lot of positives to the rest.

I would also like to know why Simon Cox is not playing in this.

Simon Cox is 22.

He would have qualified for this comp though, you needed to be <21 when it began about 2 years ago.

More or less you have to be playing in the Prem.

Reggie S is correct - James Milner is 23 years old.

Andrew Driver's inclusion was suprising - an attempt to sway him to remain "English"?

no presence up top tonight, once we went 1-0 down there was really only one winner.

wonder how many of them will go on to play for the first squad?

It was a sad way for Milner to end his somewhat overlong U-21 career. I imagine he might get capped in the next year.

yep, he will - have to say i don't really think he's lived up to the potential he seemed to have when he was here, probably down to the fact he was at the toon for too long.

I'd have thought a fair few...Richards, Walcott, Agbonlahor already have played for the full side. Milner has been in the squad.  Gibbs and Rodwell certainly will. Muamba has been impressive.
