Didn't think I'd be bothered by this news but actually quite surprised that I'm shocked by it. But not really that sad  as although he did have unbelievable talent as an entertainer he will always be tainted by the sad and mad latter years. More akin to the Diana syndrome and similar celebrity connotations than say John Lennon, James Brown or  Bob Marley as music geniuses !

Am I the only person in the world who isn't surprised by this?

The bloke was a time bomb that could have gone off at any time.

That life glug isn't properly over his mouth. All those doctors are doing is keeping his chin cool. The fact that they're wearing a white glove is a nice respectful touch though.

Michael Jackson's upcoming London dates have been cancelled. They were James (aged 9) and Thomas (aged 11).

Good to see all the hangers on crawling out of the woodwork to "disclose" the "real Michael Jackson" to any media outlet willing to listen to (and I guess pay for) their clearly made-up anecdotes. Special mention to Uri Geller who was as ever particularly sickening in this regard on BBC News24.

FFS this is going to be like the bloody Diana thing all over again isn't it?

I was sure I had him in my death predictions.

Why not kill two birds with one stone for the o2 shows, as he's embalmed anyway, chuck him in the tutenkamen exhibition, job done.

Pure genius.

That photo of 'him' could be anyone.

I heard they were going to scatter his ashes in a sandpit so children can play with him forever.
