For a selfish point of view a town with an ounce of common sense...the only town ive been to..and ive been to most in the UK that allows HGV traffic to use the bus lanes at all times..yes as a car driver it is galling to see lorries using it when your sat waiting but ultimatly it means car drivers are waiting less............and then you have Shity not kept up with the centurys Bristol,after a horrific fatal accident on the M4 today whichshut it all day i spent 2 hours crawling through the centre.....with bus lanes strictly obseved for stray pissed off drivers,and not many busses using the lanes after rush hour,so literally miles of unused space for us to look at while sitting like sardines in sunny Brittle.
After witnessing sed remains of cars after the M4 smash i spent the day trying not to feel to sorry for myself,after all its not life and death...but a bit of common sense would help,i mean all traffic can use the bus lanes in Swindon..when theres no jams.so from this lorry driver well done Croydon.

Bus lanes are good there, its the tram lanes that are a shit, some near east croydon are very poorly signposted and it's easy to get caught in one and get a nice 100 quid fine through your door. maybe a should buy a lorry!

Got to say Sutton,...Addington is the worse place ive been to in my life,not far from Croydon,Tower blocks are horrendous..you ever been there?

Aint been to Selhurst Park since our premier days, but didn't you used to go through Croydon to get there?  Always seemed to be blocked up with traffic!

Do you mean Addiscombe or Addington? They are both near to each other and tbh are both crap, not as bad as a bit further in though, Tulse Hill and Catford are worse. Not much of anything decent South london wise. Hopefully the regeneration in places like Lewisham and New Cross, will start spreading , as it needs it.

Wandsworth, Clapham, Dulwich, Putney, Balham are all ok although large areas of south London are shit but then the same could be said for the north.

They are fine, but little bit of a different area to the others, saying that the places above mentioned aren't as bad as some North east of the river. I've spent a lot of the last 18 months in and around Walthamstow and Leyton, they make Around the Croydon locale,look like the good bits of Paris.

I know the area well .. I was brought up in Brixton, Streatham, Thornton Heath and Sutton .. until I moved here at 8

I absolutely love undertaking folk in the bus lane after 7, especially the bit round the back of Edwards (or whatever its called now) you can really sense them getting annoyed.... ace...

...and Wimbledon, Earlsfield, Richmond, Teddington, Twickenham, Barnes, Hampton.  SW London has some of the best areas to live in the whole of London, infact.  SE London doesn't fair quite so well though.

Very true, althouhg it does kinda depend what you class as being 'London'. For example, if I said I wanted to move to London, those aren't areas I would be thinking of. Whereas somewhere like Leyton might be (not that I'd choose to live there!)

Funny that.  Wimbledon is no further from central London than Leyton (although some of the other places clearly are).  I know what you mean...but I think my own definition of what constitutes London and what doesn't involves contiguous development (ie can you walk from A to B with passing through countryside).  By that definition, all of the places in the list are in London.
