Any one been watching this? I put it off as i wasn't a massive fan of the english version, but a mate of mine made me watch it and i cannot set enough, Just started watching season 3 last night (out of 5) and it really is a piece of televisionary genius. I reccomend everyone checks it out.
The carachers and acting is spot on.

I saw a bit of the first series and, to me, it just didn't match up to the original.
That said, the newer series are completely seperate from the Gervais/Merchant scripted 1st and 2nd series so wouldn't have a direct comparison to critique against.

I have the first series on dvd. I want to buy the second series soon (a tenner off play for 22 episodes - bargain!!).
From what I have seen on TV it actually gets better in the later series (3 and 4).

You can get seasons 1-3 for £18 from play, cheaper than buying 2 and 3 separately. I watched some of the American episodes from the first season when they were showed on BBC2 (I think). Thought they were crap, mainly as a result of them using the scripts from the original which seldom works. Been watching some of the more recent episodes on the Comedy Channel and it looks a lot better now its got going properly. |
