With 46 games to go they are pretty poor odds, apart from the bottom five.  Realisitically, we should be about 20-1, along with Brighton!

Tranmere at 6- 1 with John Barnes installed as Manager is a joke they should be relegation favourites and as for Brighton I can only assume they are looking at the guy who has given them 90 million in loans to build their stadium I dont quite know how that converts to having a good football team. Also Brentford and Wycombe lower odds than us is a bit strange I can only think they are looking at what Posh did last year although I think they should be looking more at what Hereford did when it come to those 2 really can not see any of the promoted teams doing anything other than struggling.

Didn't we have this conversation last year when they predicted we'd struggle. At least it's mid table this year Smiley

It's pretty daft offering any kind of odds before you even know what the teams will look like. But looking down that list it's just the standard "Big/rich/just come down teams to do well; financially struggling/just promoted teams to struggle; everyone else throw a dart in the team list" stuff they do every year. It bears as much relation to a serious analysis of the relative merits of League One next season as the Adver's cookery page

Fully agree. Big names don't make the best managers. He didn't go well at Celtic, and if his wooden performance in front of the Five cameras is anything to go by, he'll bore them stupid. I think he'll be out by Christmas...and with lower gates !!!

Odds are crap and always have been. It's just bookies putting the big clubs as favourites.

No, odds are based not just on likely performance, but the amount of money being placed.  That'll be why Leeds start off with such low odds, to cover the amount of cash going on them from uninformed gambling addicts.  That'll probably explain Tranmere as well, although last seasons form will drive some to put money on them as well.

You would expect 20/1 to be for a team in the middle of that list.

Booo Coral. Rubbish!!!
