That wasn't an anti scouse rant PM. Fair play to the low lives of England, to come back and rob the italians of their rightful victory took a lot of guts. I'm just overwhelmed by the amount of people on here celebrating like Town had just won the LDV or something. I find it difficult to celebrate other clubs achievements. That's all. Even a few of my mates were cheering last night, WTF is that all about. Glory hunting that's what I call it. I feel quite sorry for people who can't see any further than their own club. We're all Town fans here (apart from Oxford fan of course) but I thought we were football fans as well. Obviously not all of us are. I love football, full stop. I don't care if I'm at a non-league game, the County Ground or watching Eurogoals or the Champions League Final on TV, I love the game. I was jumping up and down when Shevchenko missed that penalty but I'm sure as hell no glory hunter, it was just a fantastic game. You know when you are watching it that you are whitnessing something that people will be talking about in 10, 20, 30 years time. If you can't enjoy on occasion like that just because your own club is not involved then that's very sad.

I celebrated because I support any English team in Europe (although this may not apply if a rival of Swindon was there!).
If people did not support their conutry's teams in Europe then the Champions' League would fall apart due to lack of interest.
Wake up and see the facts jan! :boring:

Fair enough rules are rules Rules can also be a pathetic load of bureuacratic fucking bollocks Dave, as in this particular case. I don't even think there is an actual rule set in stone that says that the Champions don't automatically qualify the next season. UEFA just decided on a whim one day that that should happen. They are a bunch of wankers. You don't play any competition in any sport without the reigning champions. End of.

Quite right, if this situation was different, for example if it were Man U, then UEFA would bend over backwards to let them in, same would apply were it Real Madrid, AC themselves, B. Munich etc. They'd all be in no questions, so why not Liverpool?

If it wasn't Everton who finished fourth then it wouldn't be an issue, Liverpool would get straight into the champions league and whoever finished fourth would be out on their arse.

anyone here vialli's suggestion last night?
whoever won it last should be straight into the next final, everyone else plays to face them in the final match for the cup.
Fuck off, Gianluca.

Fuck off, Gianluca. And how would the team that automatically goes through to the final make any money throughout the season, in the absence of all those other games they'd play?! Vialli, he can't seriously have said that can he? If so he's an even bigger muppet that I thought.
