Historical moment in football imo. Anyway do any of you remember where you were when you first saw or heard about it.

I was working for NatWest on a project in London and staying in a hotel for the best part of 3 months bored shitless. My first kid was 1 year old and I was missing her and my wife like mad.
That brightened up another Groundhog Day.

I still think Cantona should have got a life ban for it. I don't care what the fan said, absolutely no justification for what he did. What would have happened if a player shouted something abusive at the crowd and a fan ran on to the pitch and drop kicked him? A life ban. The same as that French cunt should have got.

Its also the reason I hate Man Utd fans. They treated him like a hero when he returned, rather than the piece of shit scumbag that he was. Same as they did with Ronaldo. Wankers.

Ol Eric is putting in an appearance at Bath City Football Club tomorrow apparently (well, later today). I'd go and stalk him if I wasn't so lazy.

I was thinking about this one the other day as well, DRS. Probably because of all the Cantona stuff.

Was listening to it on 5 live. Could not believe what I was hearing.

The FA and the PL have banned/withold all rights to that piece of film and wont allow it to be played on television. The quality of clips on youtube is rubbish, but there is one by a french poster that has the whole thing as it happened on sky sports. Il try and find it when I get home from work.

People forget how involved Ince was. He steamed right into their fans, but it wasnt caught on camera, or at least shown on the live feed of sky sports.

I dont know if it was intuition or just luck. But Cantona was extremely fortunate that the bloke was a proper NF, skinhead who had previous for racist battery and holding up a petrol station. I think when people heard that, Cantona got a lot more sympathy, which allowed him to return. Cantona continues to refer to the fan as a 'hooligan', but he was at the match with his mum. He was a racist, but not really a hooligan.

But it is suprising the FA did let him return. Must have been so close to being banned from English football. Whatever you say, it was a piece of pure raw emotion, pretty rare from players in football nowadays.

I think Cantona is ace......

Fair play to him for sticking to his guns, fair play to him for playing with all the media with his sardine story...

I think he was possibly the most gifted footballer I have ever seen play - and the fact that he wasn't scared to get involved means he was a legend for me...

Although 1 caveat in this is that I think he was a complete wanker when it came to the CG and John Moncur.....At that point he was a dirty French Cunt !!!

Hmmmmm - I think I find myself being a bit of a hypocrite !

Lets not forget that Cantona had previous as well - how many players had he stamped on at that point?
