the season ticket sales are irrelivant really, they were always going to be down on last season.a decent side will see people turn out though.not a problem, unless our side is utter shite like last year.

Yep. Anybody who expected 5,000+ was kidding themselves really. The tickets are more expensive and there's no massive media campaign. Also, we've just come off the back of a crap season and people aren't really sure where we go from here. If we are at 3,500 that's not bad at all, and a few decent signings could easily see that up to 4,000 by the time the opening day rolls around

Watkins on season ticket sales (audio from BBC Tinpot). He's even going to start phoning up anyone who hasn't renewed. That and trying to get in corporate types too.

I think we'll get 4k+ by the end of this month. I can't imagine too many ST sales after that, if you're hanging around for signings you may as well go pay on the day in case we're shit again.

If they keep on extending the deadline, they could well upset those who did stump up early, which will make it even harder to attract early sales next year

I've always thought increasing the price throughout the summer is a stupid idea. All you need is one price for renewals and one price for everyone else. The fact that it will cost £100 more from the 1st is going to stop people from buying, not because they're £400 but because the price went up. If we sign some decent players or keep Cox there will be a lot of potential season ticket holders who won't buy because of the higher price.

I can't see anyone getting too upset if they extend the deadline, its not like anyone will be losing out. I think most people will just be happy that we've sold more season tickets.

I think it will have a knock on effect if they keep extending - people will just continue to leave it until we make signings because they know if ST sales aren't as high as they could be, the offer dte will keep getting extended.

As you say though, I wouldn't be fussed if I paid out earlier than someone else, I just wanted the ticket no matter when I got it.

I agree with the point of view it doesn't make that much difference to season ticket sales who we sign. Buying a season ticket is such a big decision in terms of paying hundreds of pounds and allocating time every other weekend for months that people aren't gonna be swayed either way unless a really big name was announced or cox signed a new contract.

3,568 at close of business on 20th May.  Getting on for 2,000 down, worrying times for the board I would guess.

They're about 900 down from the number of season ticket holders at the end of last season currently and theres quite a few weeks til the start of the season so you would expect them to pick up a few hundred more.

surely comparisons should be made about the numbers of season ticket holders at a start of a season? not one at the start, the other at the end.

Maybe but this season we know none of them will drop out cos it isn't split into 2 payments. Surely someone who paid the first installment and only had a season ticket for the first 10 games (not really a proper season ticket holder then were they?) shouldn't count as much as someone who is a season ticket holder all season.

2,000? Where did you get that from? We only sold 5,200 last summer.

Yeah, lets do that so then everyone can bitch and moan because we havent sold the same amount as last year.

The people who didnt pay their second installment last season can quite frankly fuck off. They clearly arent proper supports and the way some go on you'd think we'd just had our worst season of all fucking time.

Ok, its probably bad from a financial point of view but i'd rather have less season tickets sold than have some johnny armchair come along because they are cheap, bitch and moan all game and then not bother when we dont win every game 3 fucking 0 playing like Brazil.
