Why do so many people want Dave Byrne out of the Club?
Surely if Danny Wilson's happy to keep hold of him, he must value his contribution?

I'm not bothered.
Not being on a pro contract at the club I've no idea if he's any good as a coach or not.

I've no problems with Byrne, never have either (I didn't want him as manager though).

I don't think there should be a clean sweep for the sake of it. As you say Hertha, if Wilson wants to work with Byrne then that's good enough for me.
I also didn't/wouldn't want him as manager.

If Wilson is happy with Byrne then fine but for me Byrne is a bit too cock sure of himself, I think he burnt his bridges when he thought he was in with a shout of the managers job and was cosying up to fan's to endear himself, and then didn't get it he changed tac sliding away.
He was part of the failed Malpas regime also.

as long as it is wilsons decision, rather than with a bit of leaning on by fitton then that's fine i reckon. he doesn't seem to have done anything to deserve him getting the push

always believe that he is wanting the main job himself and tends to undermine the manager .. get the feeling Wilson has put him in his place a bit but Id still prefer as ex Legend as assistant/coach .. someone like Shaun Taylor

Why do so many people want Dave Byrne out of the Club? ....because he called our fans morons once - or something to that effect!! True mind. I think he is the coaching scapegoat. When we lose a few games it all 'he does nothing' 'he is a rubbish coach' despite the person who made the comment having never watched him coach ever. When we win a few games no one makes any comment about them, then as soon as we lose.... Also, the fact Fitton is mega loyal to him for no real reason and makes every Swindon manager have a clause in his contract saying they have Byrne as assistant manager. ummm, my actual point was - I have no problem with Byrne at all and I think he's a good assistant manager and well worth keeping.

Personally Im not keen on him as a person - he comes across as billy the big head
But then again he seems to have faded into the background alot since Wilson came - Im keen for him to stay there really

I remember speaking to him at the pre season game against Salisbury. He was really excited about a youngster he'd got on trial who would make the club millions. Apparently Malpas offered the kid a derisory wage so he fucked off to Newcastle instead. The youngster was Nile (The Loan) Ranger. Hi Ho Silver, Away!!!!

I thought he was restrained with that section of our fans, seems well liked by the players, and did show us Timmy's arse on saturday, byrne in.
