Just been told about this website offering legal download of Albums for approx $1 and tracks for anything between 9c and 30c.

I know a lot of people use the torrents etc. as I have used them regularly in the past (for backup purposes only of course) but I might start using this site as it is so cheap and gives a little bit of peice of mind.  Especially with some of the bigger torrent sites starting to get hassle from the internet police, Piratebay being one of the more recent.

Take a look..

It's legal in Russia from my look at their about us page.

Somehow I doubt the same laws apply to UK downloaders, but not sure.

I thought they'd shutdown all those Russian download sites, obviously not - or new ones are opening up.

The sites argue that they are legal under Russian law, everyone else says they're not legal.

Whilst they do pay something to the labels and artists, I doubt it is very much.

I'm sure I read they don't pay anything. Whether that's true or not is another matter though.

I think they offer to pay money (albeit a small amount) but the labels refuse to accept it, as it might legitimise them. There was a big Russian download site (can't remember the name) that finally got shut down a year or so ago, but new ones keep popping up and the fight goes on.
