I was delighted to hear him say he was a Liverpool fan.  Which means he doesn't support Reading.  I have no idea why this pleases me.  Petty.

I think that definitely confirms he is off at the end of the season.

Good luck to him.

He's too good for this level.  We should just be thankful that we have a board that has stabilised the club's balance sheet - because we'll now get a proper fee for him rather than a mickey mouse offer from another club looking to get him on the cheap.

Life carried on when Parkin went...and it will too after SC leaves.

Coxy's always comes accross as a young, confident and ambitous young gun.

I wouldn't want him any other way.Love to see him stay, but i know it's becoming unrealistic.

'I want to get to the Premier league, the flash motors, the big houses, you get made for life'.

Not one mention of the glory of the game, or a love of the game.

Sorry Coxy, but I wont miss you.

I'm pretty sure 99% of the players in the Premiership are attracted by the money above most things. Can you imagine Steven Gerrard leaving Liverpool because he thought they weren't playing the game in the right way? Or Paul Scholes leaving United because he was fed up of his team mates ruining the game by diving and intimidating referees?

I see your point Spence. We all love football and expect players to be the same. And I'm sure that many of them do genuinely love the game. As for Cox, I think the fact he was willing to drop a division to get regular football shows his desire to make it through hard work, which is something I admire

His comments were largely generic. The interview indicates he'd go (but we are still at a stage where our board decides that or not) this summer which is probably why OF started this thread!

I'll miss him as a Town player when he goes because he scores goals and will be the reason we didn't get relegated... if we avoid relegation, which we probably will now (75% sure).

What he does in his private life is his business as long as he contributes to my love of football!!! It's disappointing to hear materialistic comments but that's life.

I just hope his hard work isn't ruined by a move like Parkin's was (whether it's injuries or lack of form)

As for Gerrard, yes I could have seen him leaving Liverpool. Seemed more than tempted by Chelsea at one stage, despite being paid millions. Paul Scholes is a class act. Dont see what either has to do with Cox though?

Just get so frustrated at how money obsessed the game is.

You might laugh, but I tell you someone who did love the game. Paul Gascoigne. He loved it so much that he can barely live without playing it. Who was the last England player who would give everything? Every single thing they owned in order to play for England? Gazza would have. Stuart Pearce would have.

Honestly, I wont miss Simon Cox. He's scored 25 goals for Swindon in a season, and Ive never sung his name. Thats a damning indictment. When he leaves I will feel nothing. It was inevitable. Good business, thats all you were Simon. As a club weve gone backwards. Now, where can we find some players who really want to play football?

Another stupid theory of mine. But its not healthy to have a team where one player is so obviously worth about 20 times more than the others. There are some players at Swindon who talk the same talk as Cox, but cannot walk the same walk. Im not saying that Cox has corrupted them, but I think its made them other players feel a lot closer to fame and riches that they actually are.

The Blue Square Premier. Peterborough built their soon-to-be-Championship squad on Non-League players.

He's ambitious and wants a big house and a flash car. So what? how does that mean he doesn't like playing football? How can you not be appreciative of what he does for us? Apart from his goals he runs his fucking arse off in every game!

Off the pitch he's quite heavily involved in charity work, hardly the actions of a selfish, money-centric person.

I'll miss him when he goes. I'll miss the goals, the commitment, the desire to win and the tireless effort he puts in.

Well, the proofs in the pudding. Everyones known he was a flash git from the day he came. He's respected and admired, but he's not loved.

When that interviewer said to him 'Premier League' the first thing that came into his head was £££. Im not going to be one of these hypocrites who says he hates the money in the game and the attitude of the players, but crawls up the arse of his own team's players who show themselves to be a lot more interested in money than football.

What has he done for us? We are shite.

As for the charity stuff, Im sure he has a well paid, clever agent.

Not expecting this to be popular.

Cox knows he's better than us but has not stressed he wants out in a cuntish Cureton way.

Still, I think if we do get riud of Cox and bring in a couple of replacements who are just as committed in a game we'll be better for it. Saying that, I think Cox tries a bit too hard to win sometimes but more often than not this has got us results.

Bad examples there, I get the impression that Paul Scholes would be a footballer whether he was paid £50pw or £50k, Gerrard is probably the same too.

How has Aaron McLean got on this season? They took him from Grays I think, scored against us and looked handy. Powerful, pacy, decent finish.

Also does anyone know how John-Paul Pitman has got on since leaving Crawley? He scored a great strike against us and looked like a decent talent. I can't remember which club he went to.
