after a few weeks away angry shouty man was back - that is why we lost.

We figured it out, he only ever comes when Mcgoverns in the squad. He couldn't wait to get on his back.

He only had about 3 minutes to shout about then.

Only just got home from the game. I reckon Leyton Orient should be facing criminal charges on account of the daylight robbery that was them leaving with all 3 points. On another day we'd have won that by 2 or 3 goals.

Don't think putting Macklin on did him any favours, either he is crap or was scared shitless.

He made the most of it. Mcgovern put in a corner, one of the better corners we put in. It was in a good area but none of our players attacked it, and the keeper easily claimed it. He says, rather loudly and triumphantly, "Ha, Mcgoverns back". I was quite proud that a few more around me made clear their disgust at the comment

I don't like it when people seem to pick on the players they want to demonise and then make it there one aim of going to games to continually bitch at that player. If that was the idea of supporting your team then we must have some of the best supporters in the land. I think that some fans expectations of our players have been raised too high through years of exposure to Continental football or the Prem; I think people have to accept that our players are playing football in League one for a reason. I am all for having a moan if someone appears to be slacking, but to slate someone for playing badly (or just for being on the pitch) is wrong.

I still think Hatlepool are going down.
In fact I reckon we can lose our remaining 3 games and still not go down.

I really really can't see us getting anything from Carlilse or Posh, and we will draw against rovers.

I agree with most of whats been said on here but the one area I will disagree is in central midfield.
Firstly Timlin.... Well I'm beginning to lose patience with him I don't see what he is actually meant to be doing, he's not acting as a defensive midfielder and helping the defence or supporting the attackers. He doesn't chip in with goals, his set-piece delivery is shocking and he always seems to commit himself in the tackle. Ok he hangs on to ball and maintains possession but the net result is more often than not a backward pass to a defender who then just lumps it upfield negating the point of the possesion football. He doesn't seem to want to take responsibility and drive forward or open up the opposition. OJT is better than the dross we've had in midfield most of this season but he is just an average league 1 midfielder at best but worryingly looks a world beater compared to what we've put up with.

If I was a defender or striker today (and most of the season tbh) I'd have been very disappointed with the support I got from our central midfielders. I lost count of the amount of times Cox or Paynter held on to the ball looking for a central midfielder to lay the ball back to. And on the flip side on the rare occasions Orient did attack there was just a big hole in front of our back 4 where the central midfielders should be.

A strong central midfield in this league can be the difference between struggling with relegation or fighting for the play-offs. When we got to the play-offs in this league last time we had Migs and Hewlett (who yes was nicknamed fairy for a reason but was infiniately better than what we have at the moment). I wouldn't say our defence or strikers are much worse than what we had then but our central midfield is just a mess compared to then.

This isn't a knee jerk or overreaction I just think we have a lack of decent central midfielders and that must be a priority for next season. I would say we have a bigger problem here than we do with the defence. All our creativity comes from out wide, our goals from the strikers and it's down to our back 4 to pretty much deal with all the defending putting them under huge amounts of pressure which results in the mistakes we keep seeing. IMO our central midfielders have offered very little this season.

I think you could be right about Hartlepool, they have a tough run in. Away at Yeovil, Home to Leeds and away at Rovers.

Yeovil still arent mathmatically safe.

Probably could do with them winning that one. Leeds should win and Rovers have nothing to play for so could be a win for Hartlepool (same could be said for our game against Rovers I suppose)

Are you saying that's a bad thing? I think Timlin is one of the few to "get stuck in" at times. I agree that we seem a bit light of Central Midfield players though.

I think timlin does the most breaking up play and disrupting the opposition out of all our center midfielders

What I'm saying is as a unit our midfield just doesn't seem capable of bossing a game and is too easy to cut through

I notice the Trust Player of the Year email has gone out.

We'll all be on tenterhooks wondering just who might win that.
