In the Adver he seems to be trying to get Brighton to bottle it, perhaps setting up to attack is all part of the masterplan

maybe a tactic and its strange to take Macklin on a crucial away day at such a dodgy time but maybe he has had enough of being let down by the other guys

To be fair, if he's in the 16 its a similar idea to having Marshall on the bench when we played MK away. He came on for Macca, and MK relaxed, then Marshall tore them to pieces as they weren't expecting anything from him. There's every chance Macklin could do the same but it'd be a gamble

As much as I'd like to see him develop here, this aint the right time. To even suggest Macklin is better than HRK is ridiculous, and JPM and Macca are decent league one players, although most will disagree about JPM.

He'll just be a sub. Maybe more against Orient, who knows.

but looking at the squad how many would you really want to have next season - we definately don't want another year like this whether we stay up or not

I'd keep the wingers though.

I'm sure Macklin has great potential, but the next three games is not the time to bring him into the first team.
If we are safe come Rovers, Peterboro then fair enough.

I think he should have been given a chance earlier in the season, I believe Malpas was on the verge of starting him just before he got the boot.

we probably won't have kanu. we have to try macklin in the first team before we go and shop around in the summer for a winger to replace kanu. its not the right time to bring him into the squad - but we've had marshall on the bench a few times and he's come on, wilson probably wants to see what macklin brings to the team if he comes on as a sub.

I don't think Wilson would risk him in a relegation battle without seeing something in training that makes him useful in the here and now. That said, he's only in the squad, might not even play a part.

I know nothing about him, but i am quite sure that this thread could spark an argument between Chrome Dome and JVC about who knows most about da yoof. Either that or they'll exchange private messages and have a shag.
