At last Lloyd Macklin has been given the chance to travel with the 1st team and looks likely to get a bench place against Brighton - but is it too little too late?

if they had given him the chance before would they be in such a mess? There isn't a better winger at the club

Better than Macca and Kanu?

definately - how many times have they had bad games? Macklin hasn't had any in the first team because he hasn't had the chance - give him a chance and see what he can do

I've only seen him play twice, and neither time against league opponents, he looks good, but not sure he can be described as our best winger by a long shot. By what I've seen he needs to sort his discipline out as well.

true he's arrogant and has an attitude but look at all the star players - a bit of a swagger is all part of the game. We have nothing to lose in giving him a go - he can't do any worse than the others have

far from our best winger but huge potential.

I've watched him twice in the reserves and he's done alright and set up goals on both occasions. Certainly alot quicker than Macca and HRK but not better yet, although in a couple of years...

Anyway, I cant remember the exact game but he's been the squad once this season already but didnt make the 16 so dont hold your breath.

Also, JPM played for the reserves - reckon he could still play a part at Swindon even if no one else does...

its got to be a psoitive step but one they should have taken a lot earlier. It may even be a tactic to convince him to sign a contract. He's out of contract in the summer and a new 2 year deal is still unsigned

I would have liked to have seen him given a game earlier but since we've bought in HRK we've been alright out on the wings.

I would assume this also spells the end for Mark Marshall but thats old news.

if Malpas and Wilson had any balls then he would have had his chance but they preferred to use average players who let them down and that's why we're so close to the drop zone.
Marshall was a joke when they signed him and he's got worse
