I believe this forum, with its diverse range of people and opinions, is a good resource for genuine advice.  I therefore ask the posters on here who are knowledgeable about motoring to help.  Essentially, my 1998 Peugeot 306 is on its very last legs and I need a new car.  With a small deposit and sensible, affordable financing I have up to £6,000 to spend.  I need a car that is essentially a city car, but that can handle long journeys, and preferably has 5 doors.  I'm not looking for new, but does anyone have any good recommendations?  All advice gratefully received.

What monthly payments are you looking for? £6,000 over 3 years will be about £195 a month and that gives a Six grand, secondhand car that actually costs you nearer 7 grand once your interest is added plus 3 years road tax at 150ish per year.

For that money you can get a brand new 5 door honda civic through our mate Ling and saves you 3 years road tax as its included in the lease
