One for the CAMRA types out there...
Swindon-based Archers Brewery has been placed into compulsory liquidation. From the Morning Advertiser.
It hit financial problems in 2007 but was bought by local businessman by John Williams. Archer business development manager Chris Rossi told the Morning Advertiser at the time: “We’re absolutely delighted to have a new owner and we look forward to a very healthy future.”
Archers, which is based in the Great Western Railway locomotive works in Swindon, brewed award-winning ales for the independent pub sector. Archers had its own transport fleet, which enables it to serve the whole of the UK through its distribution outlets. The company, which brews around 10,000 barrels a year, employed 20 people.

Good news is that they are currently looking for someone to take over production of the beers. The end of Archers name most likely though.

It is the trade paper for pubs, not what Ritson and friends do before lunch.

Disaster. Sadly, a sign of the times. My heart goes out to all involved with Archers.
