Murray can't do the gruelling 5 set matches as easily as Fed or Nadal as shown by the fact he usually bombs out early in the second week or earlier. I'd never bet on him to win a grand slam yet alone a specific one.
The top players seem to piss about and try new tactics in the smaller tournaments so I don't read much into the results from these. The one time Murray got Federer in a grand slam last year Federer destroyed him.

I think he may well win a slam at some point but would bet against it being Wimbledon. At a punt, I'd say he may win in America. Those hard courts seem to suit his game better.
And for the record, the one interview in which the anti-English comment came about did so because the English interviewer goaded him about Scottish football. If you see the transcript of the interview, its literally what we call "banter" - I've seen far worse than what he said on this very forum about Welsh and Scottish people.
