I think the short corner is effective to mix things up. You either catch the opposition of guard when you whip the ball straight in instead, or when you've been whipping it in you play it short.

Or if they're shit, just like axs says.

Once we work out how to use Morrisons throws, we could be very potent at set peices, all we need then is someone to take free kicks and get them on target from the danger areas round the box.

They seem to be getting better. Morrison put a couple in which were lower than normal, we're getting more players around the six yard box for him to aim at - Greer was starting behind the goal line and running in as the throw came in. OK, it might not be working too well but it looks like they're working on it at least.

Though they are using it less, Morrison looks to Wilson for permission to take it each time and doesn't always get it. Wilson does a lot of in game coaching - not sure if its good or bad, good that he's making changing and giving instructions but bad as sometimes the players don't seem to know what they should be doing without being told.

Just seen the highlights......Offside call is one of those which has made me fume this season..

Just saying that 'it equals itself out' is not good enough in my book!

No of course it isnt. But weve got to the stage where a stand with 3500 people in it and when we get a corner it might as well be 50 fans in the south stand. A handful of shouts and a smattering of applause. Fans are totally morose. The support is pitiful.

Not pointing the finger at anyone. But overall, you look at the ground, and only the smallest stand in the ground is actually offering any support!

Well done everyone for turning up, but surely a 'come on' when we get a corner isnt too much to ask?

Not healthy signs at all.

Like I said, I agree!

Whilst the Town End is improving but still seems to be lethargic, the DRS concerns does concern me just as much as Spencer highlights. When many were pointing the finger of blame on fans moving stands for lack of atmosphere I disagreed with that sentiment. Sure it may have caused it, but it shouldn't. It seems to me that there is a psychological thing where you can only chant if you're in the TE and even then many will only join in if many others are, which can lead to points in the game where nobody is brave enough to get anything going.

I think as a collective we've been very sub-par in the support department this time round, each and every stand. I've heard the odd moment in the DRS to suggest it could provide an awesome atmosphere and the TE is getting better and I think it will continue to do so, but it is worrying because I think most people who renew will stay in their respective stands and the atmosphere won't improve in the DRS. I've written off the Arkells because you'll never ever hear a peep from that stand.

I know there's been quite a bit of debate about the pricing structure of the TE season tickets and there's no incentive for people to move back to get the atmosphere going. But if tht part of the ground could somehow get some chants going on, then their ticket and matchday experience would be amazing value for money.

Totally agree too. The only thing 95% of the DRS consistently do is clap along to red army/barmy army. And now I'm stuck there.

I was surprised that on both Tuesday and Saturday a lot joined in with the clapping to "Danny Wilson's Red & White Army". From where I was sat you could hear it going right round the ground and it was ace.

There are a few lads up the back of the Arkells who do chant, mostly on their own because no one else joins in.

I liked it a couple of seasons back, before the Rovers incident, when you got a decent group of 30 or 40 up the back there and had a good bit of banter with the away fans.

I was sat next to a lad on Saturday who was coming to his first game for about six years. He was surprised how small and quiet the crowd was.

I guess it just shows how people have been ground down by years of shite on and off the pitch, but that shouldn't be an excuse IMO.

Sitting in the Don is annoying for me as i want to get involved in singing or whatever, but there is such a throng of folk who insisnt on speeding everything up (even just the clapping) that it seems like a lost cause - i usually give up mid song.

Oh and the kids who would rather sing songs at the stewards get on my nerves.

Why aren't they there any more? Were the stewards giving them too much hassle?
