I'm pretty confident we'll sign Greer.
He's been relatively honest what with stating he has offers from Scotland and League 2. Location may prove the downfall of this transfer.

He's been honest to say that he wants to stay here as well though Rich. I think he's just covering all bases as anyone would when they have multiple job offers on the table.

And making sure that he gets offered as high wages as possible.
'I want to stay, if only you could pay me just a little bit more...'
Well played Gord.

He's gone straight back into the team for Doncaster against Wolves on sat.
Worrying...

Not really as hes out of contract in the summer so whether they choose to start playing him or not is irrelevant, I cannot see him staying at Doncaster he will either come here or go elsewhere.

I wouldnt be so sure. Now he's proven his fitness if they tell him hes going to be in or around the 1st team and offer him a decent deal then chances are he'll sign for them i would have thought

Considering he's still their player, Doncaster are perfectly within their right to field him - They were facing a relegation run-in when Greer joined us. However, his loan spell coincided with Donny finding good form so, it's not as though Sean O'Driscoll is preparing a 3 year deal. Greer has indicated that he wants to leave aswell.

My concern is that we're all (well a lot of us) building this up to be a big thing, then if he goes elsewhere for better terms/location it'll be a 'lack of ambition' slag off.
The Board will have their idea of worth, and won't break the bank. Who's to say, regardless of his impressive spell, that we couldn't find someone else as good ?

I agree, but that's inevitable.

Very true. I'm quite happy to let Danny Wilson assemble his own squad. (If he needs help, he can always log on here and take note of the pearls of wisdom from our in-house experts).

That's how pre-season speculation usually works. Then we move on to criticise the players we've never heard of or have never seen play. Stop spoiling it.

You've missed out the "ooh, he's really good/crap on Championship Manager" phase.
